Nuku Centre for Photography - Superwall

As part of the ongoing transformation of the Nuku Centre for Photographic Practice and Research in Tamale, Ghana, the Nuku Superwall is a key spatial element designed to support the Centre’s educational and cultural programming within its historic printing press building.

Installed in the Centre’s 50-meter-long warehouse, the Superwall functions as both infrastructure and large-scale furniture—integrating display surfaces, bleachers, desks, library shelving, lockers, lighting, and power. It divides the open interior into three flexible zones: a public event space, a school and library, and administrative areas. Select segments of the wall can rotate to adapt to changing uses, supporting a range of programs from workshops to exhibitions.

Constructed from durable, locally available materials—light metal profiles, cement board, and coated chipboard—the Superwall is designed for phased growth, allowing future expansion of the Centre’s interior layout.
