In the northern tree savannah of Ghana, where a riverbed carves through Guabuliga, a telecom tower marks the crossroads of village and horizon. Red lights hover above. Below, the soundtrack of a football match drifts from the TV into the night.
This project stages a photo shoot with Guabuliga’s youth—capturing portraits lit by flash, each moment suspended between place and dislocation. The flash becomes both a light source and a rupture: a sharp gesture interrupting the evening calm, refracting off surfaces to define ephemeral volumes of space. These images hold the tension between the groundedness of context and the fleeting energy of performance.
